The Aspen Highlands is a 12,500 foot mountain with a 3,653 foot vertical drop and offers plenty of mid-range skiing for beginners. The resort is located just outside of the city, south of the Aspen Valley Hospital. Locals will recommend the Highland Bowl - a snowy thrill ride that finishes with a 45-degree descent.
